Police Reforms in India An Overview Introduction Police reforms aim to transform the values, culture, policies and practices of police organizations. It apprehends police to perform their duties with utmost respect for democratic values, the rule of law and human rights. It also aims to enhance the interaction of the police system with other parts of the security sector, such as the courts and departments of corrections departments, executive or supervisory government, parliamentary or independent authorities with management or oversight responsibilities. Schedule 7 of the Indian constitution which talks about the different lists also talks about Police which comes under the state list.
